Hi, I’m Ellie Johnson.
My understanding of life is simple; you must live it, therefore, do it well. If you hold yourself back, you will miss out on so many opportunities. Creativity is the abandoning of that scheme. The Growlery House is a place to growl, of course, but it is also a place to read, learn, and grow. And, for some, a place to be heard.
Don’t worry about perfection—there is no perfect anything. Worry about all the things you did not do because you were scared to do them. My hope is that anyone who thinks about the world and everything in it will be filled with keen wonder. Here, we learn the Art of Noticing.
Noticing is the first step.
ABOUT Ellie
I am an NREMT-Paramedic living and working in East Texas. Since 2020, I have been working in the field and have seen more than enough of the shadowed things of life. I also teach Paramedic Skills at Tyler Junior College. In my free time, I train and coach Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, compete locally, and train mma. I also paint, longboard, and study nature(Ornithology has my heart). I have been writing since I was about twelve, and wrote my first book in the notes app of my first phone. When I was sixteen, I began college and was given a laptop. I never stopped writing and probably never will.
My Approach
There is no easy way to write a book. The writing must be done. It can be a slog, sometimes, but it is worth its weight in gold. Whether you are marching through the mire now, or tentatively beginning the journey, do not lose hope, the end is in sight now.
My goal will always be helping fledgling authors understand who they are as a writer. Here, we not only raise your voice, we teach it how to make a sound.
Creativity is a muscle that must be exercised.
